"This song is about self awareness and alcohol. Being just self aware enough to acknowledge you're not very self aware. And using alcohol to be less self aware. As both a positive and negative thing. Apologies to anyone who is offended by any of the language used in this song.
This song was fully written before coming into the studio, unlike the other songs. I had been keen to get this one down for a while. It is musically inspired by T. Rex/ Marc Bolan, and producer of his album "Electric Warrior" Tony Visconti."

pass the bottle of dream
coz when my brain is wet it helps me forget that i can be seen
oh but i can be seen and I'm witnessing the crash landing
pass the sweet alibi
coz I'm not the one that was crazy dumb it was my shine
but between you me it was me with the brain atrophy confuses easily
smart enough to know I'm dumb
smart enough to know I'm stupid dumb
sane enough to know I'm crazy
sane enough to know that I'm the crazy one
awake enough to know I'm sleeping
awake enough to I'm sleeping dreaming falling out the bed
pass the megamaphone
be careful what you think
it might come up when you drink
pass the truth or dare
I'll still express a thick hot mess but at least i won't care
until I do (and i will do)
smart enough to know I'm dumb
smart enough to know I'm stupid dumb
sane enough to know I'm crazy
sane enough to know that I'm a bit undone
awake enough to know I'm sleeping
awake enough to I'm sleeping dreaming falling out the bed
This was not what I expected! I thought this was a pop group (first time hearing this band) but I had to eat my hat because this band defies genre. The vocalist reminds me a little of kpop (and maybe 2010 Sleigh Bells if that makes sense), I happen to like both so thought that was cool. If you are a fan of complex piano layers and brass check this out! Also, the bassist and drummer are insane in here. I choked hearing one of the riffs it was that good! nvan92
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
